Triathlete Nutrition Retreat in Vermont

June 4th-8th 2009 and September 3rd-7th 2009: 

Join USAT Certified Coaches Jason Gerhart and Elizabeth Stein (Certified Holistic Nutrition Counselor) for a weekend of nutrition seminars, cooking classes, beautiful bike rides, scenic runs, swimming drills, AND BEAUTIFUL Vermont scenery all housed in The Essex: Vermont's Culinary Resort and Spa

 

The Experience

Experience this one of kind nutrition based triathlete retreat. While most camps focus on the traditional swim, bike, run, this retreat looks at the 4th disciple of nutrition in a whole new light. In this 3-day retreat, you will become your own nutrition expert! Learn the ins and outs of holistic sports nutrition, get hands on cooking class experience and experiment with new Superfoods. You will come away with a better understanding of the critical role whole foods plays on athletic performance. Our home base (The Essex) is home to New England's Culinary School, what better place to learn, and eat! Ofcourse, each day will consist of triathlon training with our USAT coaches and staff including two of Vermont's elite top age groupers, Jessica Gerhart and Luke Moore.

 

 

 

Tentative Schedule

Arrival Day: Arrive at The Essex at your leisure

Day 1:

  • Breakfast
  • 8:00-9:00am -Meet and Greet
  • 9:00-11:00am -Run
  • 12:00-3:00pm -Sports Nutrition Lecture/ Cooking Class and Lunch
  • 4:00-5:30pm -FREE TIME (Massage, Tennis, Downtown Burlington, Hike, Ropes Course at The Essex)
  • 5:30-7:00 -Swim Practice
  • Dinner on your own (The Essex or Downtown Burlington)

Day 2:

  • 6:00-7:00 am -Swim Practice
  • Breakfast
  • 8:00-1:00pm- Bike Ride up the Notch, Stowe
  • 1:00-2:00pm -Boxed Lunch and Time in Stowe
  • 2:00-5:00pm -FREE TIME (Massage, Tennis, Downtown Burlington, Hike, Ropes Course)
  • 4:00-4:45pm Optional   Yoga Class
  • 5:00pm-9:00pm Sports Nutrition Lecture/Cooking Class and Dinner

Day 3:

  • 6:00-7:30am -Swim Practice
  • Breakfast
  • 9:00am-12:00pm Class/Lecture Race and Training Nutrition
  • 12:00-1:00pm Lunch
  • 2:00pm-5:00pm Brick Workout: Cycle Run with Transition Lake Champlain
  • 5:00-8:00pm FREE TIME (Massage, Tennis, Downtown Burlington, Hike, Ropes Course at The Essex)
  • 8:00pm Goodbye Dinner

Day 4: Depart
