What Is Your Body Telling You?

When our bodies become sick or we simply just don't feel 100% healthy, it's often a sign that we need to make significant changes in our lives. Often sickness comes about because we need are not being honest with ourselves by following our soul's calling. When we are living authentic, passionate, joyful lives, our bodies are healthy and we are functioning at our highest potential.

In my mid-twenties I was in a job I wasn't passionate about and a relationship that needed to end. My body was telling me something wasn't right but instead of listening, I just went to one doctor after another trying to find a "cure" for my constant fatigue and headaches. I thought mabye I was anemic due to being a vegetarian but my iron levels were normal. I then thought maybe I had an underactive thyroid. Nope. My thyroid checked out just fine. A doctor finally asked me point blank if I was depressed. This question shocked me and I simply dismissed it. Finally a number of months later, I ended up quitting the job I wasn't passionate about and my headaches disappeared. The fatigue still lingered however.

About four months later, the universe sent me an abrupt wake-up call that it was time for the unfulfilling relationship to end. After working through some intense emotions as a result of the break-up, all of a sudden the fog lifted and my energy came rushing in. My passionate self was back and I felt a sense of freedom I hadn't felt in a long time. In my case, the "truth" literally set me free. Once I was honest that I needed to make changes in my personal and professional life, the universe helped make these changes possible.

When clients contact me and they are dealing with sickness, it's often due to emotional sickness. I ask clients to tell me what is going on in all aspects of their lives. I try to figure out if they are happy in their jobs and personal lives. I also assess whether or not they are denying a major truth that is trying to emerge. Accepting truth takes courage but once we embrace truth and take action, our whole world literally opens up and our bodies restore themselves to perfect health.
