Jonathan Appelhans has an extensive background and expertise in Health and Human Services. He offers guidance for issues such as  Life Skills, Time Management, Anger Managerment, Life Balance, Self-Esteem, Legal, Financial, and Education and Career Planning issues and concerns.
From his beginnings in nursing as a Marine Corpsman in the US Navy, through and beyond USC (Class of '97), Jonathan has worked for over 20 years in both the private and public sectors of the Health and Human Services field, covering a wide range of sensitive treatment environments.
In 2010, Jonathan joined the prestigious Promises Treatment Centers as their Life Coach after many years as a Substance Abuse Counselor; most recently he implemented and managed a successful Clinical Substance Abuse Treatment Aftercare program at the Weingart Center Association in Los Angeles. Over his many years in the field, Jonathan has developed a unique skill in helping people identify barriers to balance and management skill. He has developed ways to successfully support clients as they confront negative aspects of their lives with a newfound discipline and confidence.
Even more importantly, Jonathan helps his clients reconnect with so many of the good things about themselves - good things that have often been buried or addled by any number of life's many challenges. He supports clients in building new strengths and hopes for their futures.
His focus is directed towards re-empowerment. Helping clients identify and modify, or just reconnect with and further develop positive and productive perceptions and behaviors. Jonathan does this while supporting the clients' progress in many of the practical aspects of their lives as they transition from residential treatment to full re-assimilation back into the world.
