Do you tend to gain weight in your belly?
Stop the belly bulge blah's...

Yes, that's me on the right -- just 6 months after giving  birth do my daughter, Skyla.

I used to be shy about my belly.

I didn't want my boyfriends wrapping their arms around my middle because... well...

I FELT FAT!

Yucky, icky, unattractive, bloated... I didn't want anyone to touch the "pouch", but I didn't know how to get rid of it either!

Don't get me wrong, I KNOW how to go on a diet, but I could never make it last. Eventually, those "little slivers" of chocolate cake, grab-and-go scone, or fill-me-up- fast toast always made their comeback from cameo appearance to everyday habit.

What I needed was:

Easy-to-find, normal, everyday foods that are delicious, healthy, affordable, and that melt fat permanently!

I realized that first I had to figure out what was sabotaging my belly fat loss efforts... I had already tried eating less and exercising more, and that wasn't much fun (or sustainable.)

That's when I discovered the ONE food that was preventing me from losing those last 10lbs of belly fat no matter what I tried.

Wanna know what it is?

Why can't we stop bingeing?

G&S
Almost everyone overeats on occasion, having seconds or thirds of a holiday meal or devouring an entire bag of chips while watching a scary movie. Sometimes, though, overeating becomes a regular occurrence, shrouded in shame and secrecy. It's called binge-eating disorder, a serious eating disorder in which you frequently consume unusually large amounts of food.

When you have binge-eating disorder, you may be deeply embarrassed about gorging and vow to stop. But you feel such a compulsion that you can't resist the urges and continue binge eating.
By the way, one of my favorite titles is from Geneen Roth who wrote: When you eat at the refrigerator pull up a chair. Ha!

So why do we start?

5 Common triggers
Client #1: Boredom and loneliness
"I eat when I'm bored or lonely as a way to make up for what I'm missing. Then, I get mad at myself for doing so, which causes me to eat more, which causes me to get mad again..."

Client #2: After an argument...
"I eat when I feel rejected, jealous, or betrayed. It helps me "numb out" so I don't have to deal with the pain. Sometimes it seems like it makes everything better, but more often I just feel more crappy, yet still, I keep using food to self-medicate."

Client #3: Feeling overwhelmed.
"Eating is my reward when I get home. It's how I unwind from a stressful day."

Client #4: My family/friends eat differently
"When I go home I always intend to stay on track, but it's hard...it usually starts with my mom's famous brownies, from there it's all downhill."

Client #5: Yo-yo dieting.
"I was so "good" for 4 days, I barely ate, then suddenly I lost control..."

Losing control-with a bag of chips, a pint of ice cream, crackers, cheese, and more, is EPIDEMIC.

Do you want to put an end to late night fridge raids and self sabotage?

Do you want to stop numbing out and feel more ALIVE?

Have you tried all the diets without getting the results you want?

Are you ready for a radically new approach?

With Stacey's support I was able to get honest with myself about the ways that I use sugar and over eating to hide from painful emotions. Eliminating sugar has helped me to clear away some of these old, self-destructive patterns and funnel that energy into creative self-expression." -Kirra Swenerton, Dancer, San Francisco, CA

"Lost 40 lbs...and kept it off!
Over the past 10 months I have lost 40 pounds. Working with you not only helped me keep the weight off- I was able to open up to you and get to some of the root of my overeating and sugar binges, the Kick Sugar Workshop paved the way."
-Regina Durazzo, NY, NY

Spring is coming. It's time to shed habits that are no longer serving you and make way for fresh possibility....in your mindset, your diet, your lifestyle, and even in your yoga practice. It all starts with the art of listening.
Learning to Listen: What is Your Body Saying?

Want to become your own health expert?
You simply need to learn how to listen. Listen for what?

Feedback.

After you eat, take a few minutes to relax. Learn from the meal by reflecting upon what you have eaten and how you have eaten it. You have already fed the body. Complete the circle by letting it feed you-feedback.

Here's how...
Sit down quietly after a meal, take 5-10 slow deep breaths, then carefully listen to your body. Did you pay attention to the meal? Did the food satisfy you? Would you eat differently next time? Slower, faster? Consume more food, less food, or different food?

Take whatever information that comes to you and simply note it. Do not judge it, just simple notice with curiousity.

If you are unhappy with the way you ate or how you feel, try not to punish yourself. Relax. Use the experience as a teacher, as a method to improve the way you eat next time.

This step will enable you to learn which foods work best for you and which eating patterns work against you. Look for the clues your body offers to help determine the effectiveness of a meal.

I know there are certain foods that cause a reaction in my body, for instance sugar makes me feel antisocial, gassy, and sleepy. I choose not to eat it very often because I don't enjoy the sensations it produces. However, even if I eat something that I know is not healthy for me, I do not punish myself. I am simply aware of it and learn from it. Self-acceptance is the key. Accept yourself no matter what you eat, and you are on way to transforming your health.

Isn't it time to start showing up for yourself?

Get curious about how healthy you can be in 2009. Initial phone consultations only $35. What have you got to lose? I guarantee you will come away with some clear goals and new insights to deconstruct your cravings, habits, and obstacles to achieving your ultimate health goals.

How to Make Healthy Food Taste Delicious
Who says you have to staceysuffer to heal?

The secret to making healthy food taste delicious is to add flavor. Healthy does not mean bland and boring! Fall in love with healthy eating with these simple zesty toppings.

Hot Pepper Sesame Oil: a few drops adds zing to stir-frys.

Gomasio is made by grinding dry-roasted sesame seeds with sea salt. You can sprinkle it on whole grains like brown rice, vegetables, fish, or any type of meat. It's a delicious way to reduce sodium.

Rosemary Sea Salt: Chop some rosemary into your celtic salt shaker for a warm winter flavor. (*celtic sea salt is loaded with minerals.)

Roasted garlic cloves: add it to soups, stews or as a spread.

Nut and seed "cheese": grind your favorite nuts or seeds in a blender. Use as a "cheese" topping for salads, entrees, soups, and dressings.

Eden Shake: I love this stuff. It's a mixture of sesame seeds and seaweed. Great salt alternative.

Nutritional Yeast: Loaded with B vitamins, this must-have condiment has a nutty, buttery flavor. Use on everything savory.
