4. Assessing Movement with Practitioner

Seeing clients for various functional movement conditions privately and in group lessons motivates me to create support to begin to loose weight gently.  I have noticed limitations in clients physical function through concepts they have developed for themselves based upon their weight along with the weight itself.

Some of the common problems I am observing are:

Shortage of breath -  This would limit physical activity, add stress and anxiety, reduce sleeping abilities.

Posture – I have observed the resulting positions clients have created in their posture due to wanting to look less heavy in certain areas of their body.  This result in chronic pain!

Bearing Weight – As my clients begin to loose weight their movement frees up.  In doing so, the position of  ones structural support can shift into a more efficient alignment.  In order to realign bone support with weight loss it is important to have professional support of someone who can assess movement patterns and support change.  In doing so, the body will move differently and  there will be more support in not re-gaining the weight lost!  As movement patterns change the memories are released and the body supports the new you!

Added Benefits – The added benefits I have witnessed are increased interest and aliveness in living.  Adding activities, reduced effort in order to return to life.  Clients have even been able to return to work.

Please note – This is not a movement method designed for a work out from which to tone and reduce body fat, nor is it physical therapy, or a method designed for specifically stretching muscles such as yoga.  This is a method of working closely with a practitioner in order to assess your individual patterns that are restricted you from having an easier life.
