$0Many business owners are eager to start taking advantage of the improving economy during 2011.  There are a few key things that you can do for your business to give it a little more forward motion than the next guy.  Here are five helpful strategies that you should be using to move your business in a more profitable direction during 2011: $0$0$0$0$0 1.  Create a business plan. Most businesses that fail will do so because there is not a good business plan in place.  Great ideas are only a start, you need to know your business, understand the risks, know what to expect for a return, know how to attract investors and customers, and have a true plan of how you are going to get your vision to become a reality. $0$0$0$0$0 2. Contact previous clients. Perhaps over the past year or so, some of your clients have been less visible.  Well, people are starting to spend money again, and now is the time to remind them that you are still around and still able to provide the goods and services that they need.  Remind your previous customers that they were pleased with your business relationship before, and that you appreciate their business and would like them to return.  Offer incentives for repeat customers! $0$0$0$0$0 3. Ask for referrals.  Ask your customers to give you referrals.  A great way to do this is to offer a bonus to your customers for every new client that they can send your way--perhaps in the form of a discount, a free e-book download or some other little prize that won’t cost you a lot but will get you some new customers. $0$0$0$0$04. Create strategic network partners.  Build up a base of business associates that complement your own business.  For example, if you are in the holistic nutrition business, then associate and network with others who have similar business ideas—think organic products, alternative medicine, etc.  If your business is interior painting, then hook up with decorators and handy man contractors to build up your customer base.  You will be able to exchange customers and get new referrals from these types of strategic partners. $0$0$0$0$0 5. Offer to speak at local meetings. Contact local businesses and offer to speak at their meetings.  These don’t have to be formal situations, you can find other opportunities like hobby groups, book clubs, support groups or other gatherings where you will find potential clients.  Think about how many jewelry parties or home gadget parties you’ve been to, and remember how much business you witnessed in a few hours—remember that concept when you present your product or service to a small group! $0$0$0$0$0 There are plenty of things you can do to get things moving in 2011, this is only the beginning!  If you would like more marketing information for the health and wellness business, please visit http://www.CherylHeppard.com for free resources, articles, and done for you workshops scripts and tools. $0$0
