Meet Rita & Randy

Randy’s Story: I was born and raised in the small South Dakota town of Garretson.  My interest in energy first expressed itself in the study of Physics and Electrical Engineering.  Soon I realized that wasn't quite the right path for me, and in my confusion I left a zig-zagging trail across the United States in search of something else.  Eventually I discovered the beauty of energy as understood by Asian medicine.  After completing my studies I also realized that I hadn't been searching for a different place but for a different mindset.  I returned to my home state to set up my clinic, ready to share what I had learned with the people here.  Everything started to fall into place from there including falling in love with my soul mate Rita.  Together we have created our shared vision - The Butterfly Rainbow Center.

Rita’s Story: Being a native of South Dakota, the expanse of the land spoke to me of lands far away and the largeness of being who I am.  As a teenager, my experience as a lifeguard helped me connect to my beingness with ease.  The life lessons that came to me shortly thereafter seemed to demand discipline and focus, thus my career as a pharmacist.  Allopathic medicine was a reliable vehicle through which I could express my intentions to heal, but never brought me back to my sense of wholeness.  As my desire for wholeness grew, the universe sent teachers and influences into my life that guided me back to being.  I realized the safety of being a pharmacist didn't make the universe any smaller.  It was simply a springboard.  My one dimensional experience of safety transformed into awareness of unlimited resources and self-reliance.  In my new life the pursuit of yoga blossomed into a stronger interest in the health of mind and body which was only a short hop to practicing as a Reiki Master and Licensed Massage Therapist.  Heeding yet another call, I traveled one more expanse to Thailand to study traditional Thai massage.  I fell in love with Thailand and was about to make it my home when I met the true love of my life, Randy.  Since our paths became intertwined new things seem to be popping up all the time.  My love of energy work has expanded to include working with crystals - and now I'm creating beautiful jewelry based on the healing properties of these wonderful little helpers!!
