What is Jin Shin Jyutsu?

Jin Shin Jyutsu, the Grandmother of Acupuncture, is a no needles, gentle touch healing art. It is an ancient healing method that is akin to acupuncture and acupressure. It is subtle yet dynamic and effective. Exceptionally gentle and non-invasive, Jin Shin Jyutsu harmonizes body, mind and spirit. Literally, Jin Shin Jyutsu means “Art of the Creator expressed through knowing and compassionate man”.

How does Jin Shin Jyutsu work?
Jin Shin Jyutsu employs 26 "safety energy locks" along the  energy pathways that feed life into our bodies. These safety energy locks are located at the intersections of our energy highways. When one or more of these  pathways becomes blocked, the resulting stagnation can disrupt the local area causing pain and eventually dis-harmonizing the complete path of energy flow. Holding these energy locks in combination reopens the pathway and brings balance to body, mind and spirit. This can bring about relief for any type of stress whether it is mental, emotional, physical or spiritual.
What can I expect during a session?
The receiver remains clothed and lies face up on a cushioned treatment table. The session is generally one hour although shorter sessions are available for children, or to fit into your busy day. The work is very gentle with hands placed over the client's clothes and does not involve manipulation, massage or rubbing. As the energy flows freely, the body will heal itself from everyday stress. It boosts our own profound healing capacities and thus promotes optimal health, well-being and vitality. It is a valuable complement to conventional healing methods, inducing relaxation and reducing the effects of stress.
What are the benefits of Jin Shin Jyutsu?
Our bodies are designed to heal themselves, we need only find ways to bring the body back to harmony and balance so that healing can happen. After your session, you will have an increased sense of well-being, deep relaxation and renewed energy, as well as relief from the symptoms of stress related disorders. Jin Shin Jyutsu is cumulative, so the more Jin Shin Jyutsu you receive, the more it will help you to find balance.
Can I have a Jin Shin Jyutsu treatment if I’m on medication?

Jin Shin Jyutsu is a powerful and effective tool to relax and reduce stress and pain in our daily lives.  It is a very supportive method, co-operating with other medical and natural therapies. There are no counter-indications to Jin Shin Jyutsu Treatments.
Is it safe to have a treatment if I’m pregnant?
Jin Shin Jyutsu is excellent for preparing for pregnancy and during pregnancy and after pregnancy. As the Art works with the subtle energies of your body it can ease pregnancy discomforts as well as support the development of your unborn child and ease the birth process.

What should I wear to the session? Should I eat before my session?
It is suggested you wear loose, comfortable clothing. If you eat before a session it is recommended it be a light meal or snack. If you eat a large meal before the session a lot of your body's energy will be focused on digesting your food instead of healing your body! Equally, a meal directly after a session is not recommended for the same reason.

Will I feel better right away?
The response to a session is unique to each individual. Although the practitioner can usually provide some relief after one session, the client usually feels optimum results after several successive treatments. Conditions of muscular tension are generally the quickest to resolve. The more chronic a condition the longer it will take to get better, though improvement in symptoms may be almost immediate.

Is there any point in having therapy if I feel well?
Definitely! Just as you would schedule a massage for relaxation and pampering in times of health, Jin Shin Jyutsu is an excellent tool to keep you in peak condition and prevent the onset of disease. Jin Shin Jyutsu supports you in finding and maintaining balance. Prevention is better than cure.

Is there anything I can do to help myself?
Yes. Your practitioner will guide you on what self-help holds you can do to improve your well-being and support the work of your sessions.

Testimonials
Testimonials
"I had not heard of Jin Shin Jyutsu before meeting Beth at a dance camp a few years ago. Arriving very frazzled and overwhelmed by family situations, I thought anything that looked like a massage would probably do some good, so I made an app't for a session. It was an amazing experience. I felt completely grounded, relaxed, and balanced at the end of the session.

My husband had to leave the next morning due to migraines and other problems. Before he left, I got him to have a session with Beth, and it helped him so much that he was able to drive the 4 hours home with no problems.

What I've come to see, though, having gone to other Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioners who have been very good, is that Beth has something special - a special touch, a special energy, a special connection - that is unique in all the energy work practitioners I have experienced. Only distance prevents me from seeing Beth on a regular basis - whoever is near enough to go to her is very, very lucky."
Patricia Campbell-dance leader, Newton, CT

" Beth is great! 7 years ago, she was intuitively sensitive to my healing needs and helped me heal and recover in extraordinarily speed from severe injuries, ruptured spleen and torn kidneys. She began the treatment whilst I was in the hospital and throughout the subsequent month targeting my specific healing needs. Her treatments were comfortable, painless and ultimately a rewarding healing process..."
Daniel Davilia-Sacred Spaces Construction, Asheville, NC

"A session of Jin Shin Jyutsu restores a sense of balance and calm to my life.  My mind, body and spirit are enriched from this practice.  Thank you, Beth."

"Beth Molaro has a healing sensitivity and her practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu returns one to a beautiful balanced place."
Richard Shulman-Musician/Composer, Asheville, NC

"Beth Molaro generously provided me much needed Jin Shin Jyutsu to my frame after three days of dancing abuse. My muscles relaxed, my joints freed up and, most importantly, the well we go to for the dance energy was once again full. No smarter, same clumsiness, but smiling once again. Such a fine week of dancing and discovery.
Marty Dances, Cleveland, OH

"Since I started regular JSJ therapy, most of my back problems have vanished, and now we're working at improving my immune system and allergies. I know I'm biased (disclaimer - I'm Beth's fiancee), but Jin Shin Jyutsu has transformed my health, and I'm spoiled to have such a gifted practitioner in my life!"
David Lynch- Graphic Designer ,Asheville, NC

"Being relatively new to the holistic health scene, I was unsure of the benefits of Jin Shin Jyutsu. Beth was very informative about the procedures and techniques. Her healing touch and expertise left me rejuvenated and energized. Beth even showed me useful self-help Jin Shin Jyutsu techniques to use at home!"
