Julie Lee, the founder of Unique Acupuncture, an Oriental Medicine clinic.
Julie Lee is a licensed as an acupuncturist and board-certified herbalist in the state of Oregon. She is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Julie has a strong interest in the management of women’s health, including pregnancy-related issues, painful menstruation, and irregular menstruation and menopause symptoms. She also treats digestive problems, anxiety and sleep disorders.
Julie practices based on the most essential belief of balance between the body, mind and spirit, and feels it is important to achieve harmony. She always recommended taking balance food such five a day such as to encourage the consumption of at least five portions of fruit and vegetables each day, following requests by the World Health Organization to consume at least 400g of vegetables daily.
Julie was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. Her family has a long history of professions in Oriental Medicine, and her father is a famous MD, PhD, and professor of Oriental Medicine at Kyung hee University of Oriental Medicine in South Korea.
Julie was also a figure skater in Seoul for ten years, and worked with an acupuncturist, chiropractor, and massage therapist to help improve her skating and to help maintain her weight. Julie was also a figure skating instructor, and quickly saw how all of these modalities, especially acupuncture, helped both her and her students with the sport.
She graduated from the University of Seoul Women with a Bachelor of Natural Science degree in 2001, studying the science of human movement. In 2003, Julie married her husband, and moved to Portland.
In 2009, she graduated from the Masters program from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.
As alumni of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, she has worked in several internship experiences; including Kang Nam Kyung Hee Oriental Medicine Clinic, Hyo Jun Oriental Medicine Clinic in Korea. She also had the opportunity to observe and work in the University of Kyung Hee hospital in Seoul, South Korea, where she studied gynecology, weight loss, and facial rejuvenation.
