Hi there!
Speaking of long-disance runners. I've always admired Dean
Karnazes for his fantastic economy of effort. If you start watching
this video at 1:42, you can see a short but informative clip of Dean
running in profile.

All
the basic components of good use are there. It would be better in slow
motion, of course. But the idea is that he seems to run in a
well-coordinated way. It's subtle, but the head initiates movement, the
torso follows, and the limbs follow the torso. The legs seem to glide
in the hip joints. His chest is full without any shortening in the
lower back - allowing for optimal respiratory function.
I've also
seen a documentary where scientists were able to prove that his body
metabolizes lactic acid much faster than the average runner - it would
be AMAZING if some lucky AT teacher could evaluate him in person!
Best to All,
